About Us
Hi! My name is Beth Gallagher (the one on the left) and I am the creator of AUStoKOR. After receiving a ton of messages on Instagram from other Aussies asking for help and advice through the EPIK system, I realised the system in place was only targeting Americans. Seeing this gap in the system, and seeing the need being out there, AUStoKOR was created!
I’m from Melbourne, Australia and I have lived in Korea for 2 years, teaching English in the small city of Wonju. I have a Bachelor in Fine Arts (Production) – Stage Management as well as my TEFL certificate. As you can see I am not a trained teacher but I would like to think I have gained a bit of knowledge on how things run here. This all being said, I am saying this right now, I am NOT an expert! This website is not the be-all-end-all guide to how to come to teach in Korea. This website is advice on what worked me and my friends.
You will hear a bunch of stories and get advice from, not just me, but my friends Odessa Grayson, who also runs a Life In Korea/Thrifting Youtube Chanel, and Jared Barley, who is an amazing graphic designer (he created the best powerpoints Ive ever seen), as well as some of my other friends here and there!
We are all currently English Teachers living and working in Korea!
